2016 began with a very exciting fight for the welterweight championship between challenger Carlos Condit and champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 195. Both men gave a 5-round war that could have gone either way and many believed it would be the fight of the year. In the end, the memory of the fans is short term only, as they voted for the amazing 3-round battle between Cub Swanson and Doo Ho Choi at UFC 206.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page took home the award after his devastating KO that eventually meant retirement for his opponent after suffering a fractured skull.
